Celebrity Japan cruises run right across the seasons on this deployment, which is what makes it worth looking at early. Sailings start in October 2028 with the autumn colour. They then carry on through the winter light displays and New Year. The season closes in April 2029 with the cherry blossom. Two ships cover the programme, so there is plenty of choice: Celebrity Millennium and the refurbished Celebrity Solstice, both based at Tokyo.
The Best of Japan itineraries are the backbone of the season. They take in Kobe for Kyoto and Osaka, plus Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Fukuoka and Kochi. Mt Fuji is viewed from Shimizu. Most also add Busan in South Korea. In addition, several call at Okinawa, where the blossom opens weeks earlier than it does further north.
Longer options push beyond Japan altogether. For example, the Japan, Hong Kong and Vietnam sailings link Tokyo with Taipei, Hong Kong and the Vietnamese coast before Singapore. However, one February 2029 sailing works the other way. It starts in Hong Kong and ends in Tokyo, calling at Jeju and Busan.
Sailings run between 10 and 15 nights, so there is room to match the trip to the time you have. Simply tell us when you want to travel and whether blossom or autumn matters more. We’ll then check availability and put flights and any land time in Tokyo around it.
