Later in the week you head inland to Curral das Freiras, a village sitting deep in a crater valley.

Two days are left free, so you can set your own pace. Funchal rewards wandering, and the Mercado dos Lavradores, Blandy’s Wine Lodge and the CR7 Museum all sit within easy reach. Whale watching also runs year round from the marina.
