About this holiday
A Santa’s Magic Lapland holiday takes your family 200km above the Arctic Circle to Saariselkä. This is the classic Lapland package, and it’s built around one unforgettable day. Everything sits in a single price: return flights, coach transfers, half board accommodation and a full programme of snowy activities. Because thermal suits and boots come included, you won’t need to buy specialist kit before you travel.
The Search for Santa Day runs at the operator’s own Arctic Circle Centre. First comes a husky sled ride through the forest, then a reindeer sleigh ride with a local Sami guide. In addition, the elves perform shows inside a Magical Igloo and the Sleigh Barn. Afterwards a snowmobile sleigh carries you deep into the trees to Santa’s hidden log cabin. Every family gets a private meeting, and every child under 13 receives a gift.
You can pick two nights or three. Three nights adds an Adventure Day, so there’s time for skiing, snowshoeing or a Northern Lights hunt. Six properties sit within the package, including Santa’s Hotel Tunturi, Santa’s Hotel Riekonlinna and Santa’s Hotel Holiday Club. Alternatively, families who want something cosier often choose Santa’s Kuukkeli Log Cabins. Prices vary by property and by date, so tell us what appeals and we’ll quote it properly.
December 2027 departures are available across 16 UK airports. Flights fly direct to Ivalo, and the transfer to resort takes around 25 minutes. Daylight is short at that time of year, with roughly four and a half hours of proper light. However, the long blue twilight either side is exactly what makes the snow look so magical. Temperatures usually sit around minus 12, although they can drop lower. Santa’s Lapland also applies a snow guarantee, so a genuine lack of snow means you can move dates or cancel for a refund.
Christmas 2028 isn’t on sale yet. Register your interest with us now, though, and we’ll be in touch the moment 2028 dates and prices are released. Booking early usually means the widest choice of hotels, dates and departure airports.

Your itinerary, day by day
Day 1: Arrive in Saariselkä
Fly direct to Ivalo, collect your thermal suit on the way and settle into your hotel after a transfer of roughly 25 minutes. The afternoon is yours for tobogganing, snowball fights and a first proper look at the snow. Dinner follows at your hotel.
Day 2: Search for Santa or Adventure Day
Two night guests head to the Arctic Circle Centre for the Search for Santa Day. Three night guests take their Adventure Day instead, with free time or an optional excursion. Departures on 23 and 24 December run the Santa day on this day regardless of duration.
Search for Santa Day: the main event
A husky sled ride and a reindeer sleigh ride open the day, followed by elf shows in the Magical Igloo and the Sleigh Barn. Lunch is a warming two course meal with hot berry juice. Later a snowmobile sleigh takes your family through the forest to Santa's log cabin for a private meeting, and every child under 13 receives a gift. A Festive Dinner rounds the day off.
Day 3: Final day or Search for Santa
Two night guests have the morning in Saariselkä village for Lappish gifts and a last go on the toboggan run, then transfer back to Ivalo. Three night guests spend today at the Arctic Circle Centre on their Search for Santa Day.
Day 4: Final morning for 3 night stays
Three night guests enjoy a relaxed breakfast and a final walk through the village before the transfer to Ivalo and the flight home.
A deposit of £150 per person is required on booking. Infants are excluded.
Free child places apply to selected 2 night Santa's Magic departure dates in 2027, on a first come, first served basis, for new bookings only. One free place per family, for one child aged 11 or under at the time of travel, travelling with two paying adults. The free place covers the basic holiday price only. Room and airport supplements, meals and optional activities remain payable in full. Subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time.
