About this holiday

Valiant Lady sails this route once and once only, which is reason enough to look at it properly. The Virgin Voyages transatlantic cruise opens with a night in Keflavik, so you land, sleep and join the ship rested rather than walking aboard straight off a flight.

Greenland is what sets this one apart. Qaqortoq and Nuuk are small, brightly painted and genuinely remote, and very few ships call at either. After that the ship crosses open Atlantic water and picks up Canada’s east coast at St John’s and Halifax, before arriving into New York on the final morning.

Valiant Lady takes adults only, so it suits couples and solo travellers rather than families. Restaurants are included in the fare, along with group fitness classes, basic WiFi and tips. Solo cabins are built into the standard layout too, which is still unusual at sea.
